Hi folks. Today we’re going to have a look at five cases available for the newly available and newly successful Google Nexus 7. This budget tablet has taken the world by storm, so I’m sure there are quite a few of you looking for a little protection or extra functionality, so I hope this is helpful.
This case is a custom-moulded shroud for the Nexus 7 that’s made from a durable blue gel material. (I swear that’s not a Portal reference!) The case is primarily good for protecting against scratches and impacts; there’s no integrated stand so if you’re looking to consume multimedia then a dedicated Google Nexus 7 dock might be a good complement to this case. The material also makes the Nexus 7 very grippy and easy to hold.
This TabletWear Case is quite different from the one we looked at earlier, in that it’s made from a faux-leather material and it includes an integrated viewing stand. This makes the case a bit bulkier, but does offer that added functionality which can be handy for a media-oriented device like the Nexus 7. The case includes cutouts where necessary for the buttons, too.
3. Proporta BeachBuoy Waterproof Case
This is definitely the most unique case on the list. It provides full waterproofing for the Nexus 7, so if you want to take your tablet into the bath, into the pool or just somewhere dirty then you can do so without worry. It’s not the most elegant design, as it resembles a kind of ziplock bag, but it certainly does the job. It’s got IP57 and IP58 certification, so it should be quite trustworthy.
2. Sena Genuine Leather Folio Case
This is definitely the most premium item of the lineup – the Sena Genuine Leather. As the name implies it’s made of high-quality real leather and it’s also a Folio case, meaning that opens in a typical book fashion. It’s a fancy and professional looking product, but it is also about half of the cost of the Nexus 7 itself. Still, if the utmost quality is desired, this is the one to go for.
1. Leather Style Rotating Case
This case is much different to #2 – it uses fake leather and it’s very affordable. The case’s ‘rotating’ name comes from the fact that once you open the folio cover, you can easily rotate the tablet between portrait and landscape modes without having to move the case itself. It’s a sweet and simple solution, and definitely one of the best Google Nexus 7 covers available.
Conclusion
I hope you found this post useful. If you’ve got any questions, comments, concerns or the like, then let me know in the appropriately titled comments section below. Thanks!
