The latest iPad 3 rumour is that it will be announced at an Apple event on the 7th of March. That’s just three weeks from tomorrow! The rumours fit with known Apple launch events; it will be held on the first week of March and on a Wednesday. The iPad 2 was launched, of course, on the first Wednesday of March as well.
The iPad 3 is expected to launch with a string of killer specifications, including a massively dense 2048 x 1536 pixel screen, an even stronger graphics card and a quad-core ARM A6 processor. There’s also a strong possibility of a killer 8 megapixel rear camera and improved front-facing camera, too.
The new iPad has also been rumoured to ship with 4G/LTE capabilities according to the Wall Street Journal, which could prove a winner in the US market (and will likely cause excitement for the Europeans that enjoy LTE connectivity, like Germans and Scandinavians.)
Either way, if the rumoured launch date is correct we don’t have long to wait.
